Make Your Kids’ Smiles Are First-Day Ready
- August 1, 2016
The first day of school is quickly approaching.
You’ve started shopping for back-to-school clothes. You are checking items off your supply lists — pens, pencils, notebooks … check, check, check.
And you’ve scheduled your children to visit Robert I. Hlavac, D.D.S. for a dental cleaning and exam, right?
If not, now is a great time to get your family ready for the new school year with preventive care at our dentist office. We are located Concord, CA, and we serve surrounding communities like Pittsburg and Walnut Creek.
Think about it, do you want to try to schedule dental appointments around homework, practices, games, plays, and marching band competitions? Or, would you rather start the school year on a good note by knowing your children’s teeth are clean and healthy?
Easing Into Dental Care
We know that coming to the dentist can be stressful for many families. It takes time out of your daily life, and if someone in your family has dental anxiety, it can make the trip difficult for everyone.
Nevertheless, you know as a parent that your family’s oral health is important, which is why you want them to receive regular cleanings and examinations.
One of the ways we try to make your visits more relaxing is with the comfort options we provide for our patients.
If you aren’t comfortable in our chair, we can provide you a pillow. If feel a little chilly, we have blankets as well.
We also provide water for our patients as well.
Another way we try to help everyone who visits us is through the use of technology. Here are a few examples:
✦ DIAGNOdent – This tool helps us detect tooth decay sooner than we ever could with our eyes alone. Using a laser detection system, we can identify cavities in the earliest stages, which allows us to treat them before they become problematic.
✦ Soft-tissue lasers — More lasers? No, this isn’t science fiction; it’s modern dental office. By using lasers, we can evaporate infected tissue and seal healthy tissue without cutting into it. This reduces bleeding and speeds up the recovery process.
✦ Digital X-rays — With old film X-ray machine, we had to take the images and develop the film before we could check for changes in your teeth and jaw. Now, we can see your X-rays almost instantly, and since we can display them on a screen or monitor, we can examine them more closely, too.
✦ VibraJect — Anyone who has a fear of needles will appreciate this device. It works by using vibrations to stimulate the soft tissues of your mouth. As a result, we can deliver anesthetic with little or no pain.
Helping New Patients
If you are new to our area or looking for a new family dentist, we want to make your transition easier.
Our staff is also here to help with the financial aspects of dental care.
We accept most traditional insurance plans, although we would encourage you to call ahead about your policy. You can also pay with cash, credit cards, or checks.
Or you may be interested in CareCredit. This is a medical credit card that can help you finance your dental care.
